hand-painted wedding invitations

by Elaine Hasselbach

The Creation Process

First, the wedding invitation* is mounted onto watercolor paper -          creating one larger, continuous painting surface.

Next, a pencil sketch is made (from one or more of your photos ** ) over the entire area.

Then the highest quality watercolor pigments are applied over the original invitation and the supporting watercolor paper.  Neutral mats and a natural oak frame are added to complete this unique gift.

*Invitations:  Slick or ornate borders are generally not a problem, since they tend to add depth and interest to the final product; however, an overall glossy finish may not lend itself to this treatment.  Please consult with the artist.

**Photos:  The quality and detail of the photo (or photos) are reflected in the results of the final product.  The better the photos, the better the painting.  If possible, please submit several photos to aid the artist in interpreting the subject.
